Who is New Moon Consulting?

Meet Adam Lees

Adam has worked as a senior leader in some of the world’s largest mining companies, including Rio Tinto, Woodside Energy, BHP Billiton, AngloGold Ashanti, and Xstrata, which later merged with Glencore.

With over 30 years of global experience in Corporate Affairs, Community Relations, Indigenous Affairs and Sustainability. Adam’s career spans the mining, oil and gas, government, and Indigenous affairs sectors. He has served as Vice President (Sustainability) at AngloGold Ashanti in Tanzania and as Environment and Community Specialist at BHP in Africa.

At Rio Tinto Australia, Adam held a senior leadership role in Indigenous Affairs, where he was instrumental in leading the response and reputational rebuild following the tragic destruction of the ancient Juukan Gorge rock shelters in May 2020.
