Communications for Cultural Safety and Psychosocial Risk

Case Study

Survey question about awareness of psychosocial hazards

I supported a client with two significant programs: the launch of a Cultural Safety Roadmap and the rollout of a Workplace Psychosocial Assessment (WPSA) across multiple countries.

For the Cultural Safety Roadmap, I developed and delivered a communications approach that gave leaders clear, practical language and resources to explain cultural safety, ensuring it was positioned as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-off initiative.

For the WPSA, I collaborated internally and alongside the survey provider to design a communications program that cut through survey scepticism and encouraged participation across Australia, the US and Mexico. Through sustained campaigns, FAQs, leader toolkits and intranet content, the survey achieved strong engagement with more than 3,200 responses, including nearly 600 from contractors. That represented close to 60% of employees and one third of Mode 1 contractors.

To strengthen this work, I completed the Griffith University accreditation in Psychosocial Risk Management for Leaders, enabling me to connect communications with regulatory compliance and leadership responsibilities.

These projects achieved high engagement, reassured employees and contractors about confidentiality, and equippedleaders with accessible messaging on sensitive topics.

If your organisation needs support to design communications that build trust around cultural safety or psychosocial risk initiatives, I can help. Get in touch to explore how I can support your leaders and teams.
